- As of April, 2009, one in fifty Americans suffer from some sort of paralysis. That’s approximately four million people. [Source: University of New Mexico, Center for Development and Disability]

Note these people are not merely “elderly!” They are all within an active, social age range. - Under section 4.1.2(6) of the Americans with Disabilities Act Accessibility Guidelines (ADAAG), at least five percent of single user portable toilets clustered at a single location must be accessible. - Alterations to a qualified historic building or facility must comply with ADAAG unless it is determined in accordance with procedures described in ADAAG 4.1.7(2) that compliance with certain requirements would threaten or destroy the historic significance of the building or facility. - The IRS offers TAX RELIEF to small businesses that remove barriers and make ADA-related alterations. Credits go as high $5,000 and are equal to 1/2 the cost of the improvements made. [ US Small Business Administration ]
