Another take on Liberty Bowl renovations
On Thursday I posted a video about the Liberty Bowl renovations, and even though the video captured Memphis Athletic Director’s obvious disdain in actually having to comply with ADA laws, I tried to keep it civil since…er…I’m not really sure why. It’s not like I’m a nice gal.
That being said, watching the Rebels beat the [...]

Liberty Bowl more accessible
Saw this on the morning news…the 44 year old Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium has been renovated. Renovations include assisted listening devices, more handicap seating and accessible bathrooms to comply with ADA regulations, as well as increased visibility for the sidelines, etc.
Anyone paying $55 to go to the Ole Miss/Memphis game?

Oxford may extend bar hours
Tonight the Board of Aldermen are going to discuss whether or not to extend bar hours during football game weekends. Bar owners are requesting closing time of 2 a.m. on Thursday – Saturday nights on football game weekends. If approved, the extended hours would be applicable for one year. The argument in favor is that [...]

Oxford welcomes you….to a throwdown!
Ok, I know I’m beginning to sound like a fanatic, but the truth is I sort of am.
Check out the cover for the Sports Illustrated College Football Preview.
“The Rebels have the firepower to shake the BCS”, #6! (ahead of LSU/Bama) wowza! Ok, this could all be hype but then again this could be a little [...]

The photo booth is trying to censor me…
I’m afraid the photo booth is not a proponent of the 1st amendment…look at what it’s doing!?
If anyone can figure out how to fix this you’ll be my best friend. My guess is that the camera needs to be replaced and luckily I have an extra on hand so we’ll see if that works.
Also, the [...]

Aspergers in film
My pal Cassie sent over a mention today about a NYT piece about three upcoming films, each of which focus on Asperger’s Syndrome. One of the three is biographical in nature: it focuses on the life of Temple Grandin, a professor at Colorado State University who will be played by Claire Danes. Another, Adam, is [...]

Sidewalks in Oxford
Anyone who regularly uses the sidewalks in Oxford has surely noticed that the town’s sidewalks are often annoyingly narrow and/or wonky. I’ve noticed when walking/biking around town there are several sections and streets don’t really even have sidewalks at all, and curb cuts and transitions from sidewalk to street or sidewalk to sidewalk are also [...]
