Located on South Lamar just off the Square, Holli’s Sweet Tooth is cute but dangerous little shop. The logo is perfect too…
And life is definitely sweet when you visit Holli’s Sweet Tooth. As the name suggests, Holli’s is the place to go if you want sugar sugar sugar. Menu items include delectable milkshakes and sundays, banana splits and a plethora of other fine treats, any of which you can order either on the go or to sit in. If you’re not in a hurry I’d recommend sitting in and sharing some laughs with the friendly staff.
Holli’s also has a huge stock of all kinds of candies and chocolates, and no matter what your age, if you visit Holli’s Sweet Tooth you’re going to feel like a kid in a candy store. They carry lots of old favorites as well as the new stuff the kids are in to these days. Speaking of kids, I recently visited Holli’s with my pal Megan, and she just had to purchase this:

The concept of BeanBoozled jelly beans (a product of Jelly Belly) is a little frightening for those who don’t do surprises. Don’t be fooled by this innocent looking little box, because there’s a very tricky catch. For every yummy traditional Jelly Belly bean in there, they’ve mixed in a disgusting bean that looks just like it. So whenever you pick out a bean, you could be grabbing the Buttered Popcorn (my personal favorite), or you could be grabbing the Rotten Egg flavor. I had the bad luck of drawing the Baby Wipes flavor….yuck! But then I picked a Caramel Corn so I ended my sampling on a high note. You can see the BeanBoozled Flavor Guide here. It’s pretty fun if you don’t mind the risk. Kids (e.g.–Megan) seem to love it.
Accessibility: Another great thing about Holli’s is that the space is also fully accessible with large entrance ways, sufficient space and flat flooring. Some of the treats are up higher, but remember how I said Holli’s staff is super friendly? Yeah, the staff would no doubt be willing to help measure out candies and grab the higher stashes, and there are even signs posted suggesting you ask for help if you need it. The hallway to the bathrooms were blocked with boxes, but one of the clerks mentioned that they been reorganizing the back space, so it’s likely those aren’t a usually an impediment, and it’s nothing that can’t easily be moved to make way.
Grapevine talk also tells me that they book the space for parties, think Birthdays etc., so keep that option in mind. They also carry c.d.s from local artists, so check those out too. Oh, and they also have little treats for dogs too!
We also learned that the shop now carries cakes from Sugaree’s, a bakery whose home base is in New Albany. I first learned about Sugaree’s when one of my roommates in college always insisted on having “a rainbow cake” for her birthday every year from “that place in New Albany”. I didn’t really understand why she was so choosy about a dang cake until I actually tried it. Simply devine! The caramel and strawberry are also yummy.
Make a stop in to Holli’s Sweet Tooth. You won’t regret it (unless you’re on a diet).

Dear Pickle Freak,
You’d better stop in at Sugaree’s and Holli’s AND come see me next time you’re home. Hope this finds you well!

My sister lives in New Albany and has mentioned Sugarees a few times…that rainbow cake looks amazing! The next time I’m home, I’m stopping there AND at Holli’s. I’ve always fantasized about working as a cupcake icer or anywhere with gummi bears.
